If we reduce our salary as politicians, we won’t need to sell national assets – Ben Bruce

The senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Bruce (PDP) has called on Nigerian politicians to reduce their salaries and convoys as a means of getting out the current economic recession instead of selling the country’s national assets.

He said: “If we reduce our salary as politicians, reduce convoys, stop importing rice and funding pilgrimages, we wont need to sell national assets!!!”

“We spend ₦2.3 billion importing rice daily. It is less than we spend on schools. Rice feeds Nigerians for a day. Education feeds us forever!”
